A bypass road to Ismail’s port infrastructure is being planned

The Institute of Danube Research reports that a discussion took place in Izmail regarding the construction of a new road bypassing the city to connect to the port infrastructure. The project aims to reduce traffic congestion in residential areas, improve access to the Izmail Sea Port, and ensure efficient connection to the M-15 Odesa–Reni highway.
The meeting was held on August 19 with the participation of representatives of district and local authorities, Deputy Head of the Service for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of the Odesa Region Volodymyr Kolomiiets, experts from the design company Mostoproekt LLC, and other stakeholders.
The Service for Restoration and Infrastructure Development of the Odesa Region is currently developing the feasibility study. Based on the meeting results, a strategy for further project design was formed. Each participant was tasked with analyzing possible road routes, taking into account existing engineering and natural facilities — the railway, gas pipeline, forest plantations, leased land plots, and other critical infrastructure.
The Institute of Danube Research emphasizes that the implementation of this project will enhance transport safety, improve the city’s environmental situation, and promote the development of port infrastructure, which is strategic for the economy of the Danube region.
