Danube German-Bulgarian Association in Düsseldorf Launches Podcast “Eurozone: Bulgaria and the Euro”
On 10 November at 15:00 CET, the German-Bulgarian Danube Association in Düsseldorf launched the first episode of its new podcast, “Eurozone: Bulgaria and the Euro,” on YouTube.
The project is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria under its Programme for Supporting Bulgarian Media and Organizations Abroad.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Düsseldorf emphasized the long-standing contribution of the Association to preserving Bulgarian culture, language, and identity in North Rhine-Westphalia. It also recognized the professionalism and commitment of the team in combating disinformation and fake news related to the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria.
The first episode explores the economic and social dimensions of Bulgaria’s path to the euro area and the importance of trustworthy media in building public understanding of the process.
Comment by the Institute of Danube Research:
The Institute of Danube Research welcomes this initiative as an important example of public diplomacy within the Danube Region, combining analytical communication, civic responsibility, and European values.
In the context of media literacy and information security in Europe, the podcast represents a new platform for dialogue between experts, communities, and institutions on the challenges of euro integration and public trust.
For the Danube countries — Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, and Ukraine — such initiatives demonstrate how the quality of public communication becomes a key component of sustainable development and democratic resilience in the region.
