Parking and Rest Area under Construction near Reni–Giurgiulești Border Crossing

Construction continues on a modern parking and rest area near the Reni–Giurgiulești international border crossing on the Odesa–Reni (Bucharest direction) highway, according to the Service for Recovery and Infrastructure Development in Odesa Region.

The project is being implemented under the EU Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme, which provides 50% grant funding; the remaining 50% is financed from the state budget of Ukraine.

The new site will cover 1.7 hectares and include:

-       46 parking spaces for trucks;

-       13 spaces for cars, including 2 for persons with disabilities.

The project will improve safety and comfort for drivers and passengers, increase the crossing capacity, and reduce congestion at approach roads through optimized traffic management.

This initiative forms part of the EU “Solidarity Lanes”, supporting the integration of Ukraine’s transport routes into the TEN-T network and enhancing the Danube–Black Sea transport corridor, vital for cross-border trade and logistics between Ukraine and the EU.
