Romanian President: Constanța Port is vital in Ukraine’s reconstruction process

Romanian President Nicușor Dan stated that the country’s logistical hubs, Constanța Port, and the Danube are Romania’s key advantages in contributing to Ukraine’s reconstruction, Agerpres reports.

“The position we hold, the fact that we had certain logistical hubs through which both humanitarian aid and military equipment passed, will help us. The same hubs that operated in Poland and Romania will be used for transporting materials throughout the entire reconstruction process. Constanța Port is also crucial for reconstruction. The Danube — this transport route exists, and it is cheap. These are Romania’s advantages once we start talking about reconstruction,” the president underlined.

He also added that within the framework of the “Coalition of Will,” Romania supports an early meeting between the United States, Russia, and Ukraine, noting that U.S. President Donald Trump has already expressed readiness and initiated talks with President Vladimir Putin.

IDD Comment:

The Institute of Danube Reaearch emphasizes that the development of ports along the Danube and in the Black Sea basin — especially Constanța — will be a strategic factor for Ukraine’s economic recovery. Strengthening transport and logistics corridors on the Danube will not only facilitate Ukraine’s integration into European markets but also reinforce Romania’s role as a key regional partner.
