Sarajevo Danube Declaration: Joint Statement of the Foreign Ministers of the Danube Region

The Foreign Ministers of the Danube Region have adopted the Sarajevo Danube Declaration, reaffirming their joint commitment to unity, stability, and prosperity across the region.

The document highlights the importance of European integration, regional cooperation, and solidarity with Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, as well as the crucial role of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) in promoting shared development, sustainable growth, and resilience.

The Ministers underlined the need to strengthen multilateralism, the rule of law, and energy and transport connectivity, while supporting youth engagement, innovation, and environmental protection as foundations for a more united and secure Europe.

Bosnia and Herzegovina was commended for its successful EUSDR Presidency in 2025, and Bulgaria was congratulated on assuming the EUSDR Presidency for 2026.

The Danube countries reaffirmed their shared vision of a peaceful, green, and prosperous European future.
